Don't Risk Gum Disease: Prevention is Key
Oral hygiene is extremely important and preventative treatments are absolutely key in maintaining it. During Hygiene appointments we will use top of the line equipment to thoroughly clean your teeth, including airflow, an ultrasonic scaler and hand scaler. We will also assess decay risk and determine how often you’ll need to come in for an appointment (every 3, 6, 9, 12, 18 months). This can change over time depending on whether patient habits and oral health changes.

Alongside all the benefits of ‘Plus’, we use an ultra-fine water spray and glycine-based powder to gently eradicate biofilm in periodontal pockets. Hygiene Ultra offers treatment for patients with diagnosed gum disease or perio-implantitis.

Ultra High-End Equipment for Gentle and Effective Cleaning
Airflow Equipment - Prophymate-neo
- The device uses a power jet to remove staining and plaque and is completely painless.
- A great treatment to have before teeth whitening to maximise results.
- It uses compressed air and fine calcium carbonate powder. The powder gives a smooth finish to the tooth’s surface and provides less damage than conventional methods of cleaning. Great for use in conjuction with the ultrasonic scaler.
Perio-Mate biofilm eraser – Periodontal Cleaning & Prep for implants
- Deeply cleans without damaging the implant or gums due to its softer and more gentle flexible plastic nozzle tip. A comfortable and painless experience.
- Improves the outcome of gum treatment as it can clean deeper without causing discomfort. No need for numbing.
- It works with a power jet, water and glycine based powder to blast plaque below gum level. Can move and control powder in and around gyms.
- Critical part of periodontal work to re-stabilise gum health and oral hygiene.
- It removes stains without damaging the enamel. Conventional bi-carbonate is aggressive, calcium carbonate avoids surface damage.
- Improves teeth whitening results if done first as it works on foundations by removing stains and improving hygiene.
- The spherical shape of calcium carbonate powder gives a smooth finish to tooth surfaces compared to the effects of the sharper-edged particles of sodium bicarbonate.
- Perio-mate efficiently cleans the area to prevent peri-implantitis (gum disease around the implant) from happening. It is more likely to happen if you had gum disease prior to getting the implant, if this is the case it’s best to come in more regularly to clean.
