IPL is an advanced and clinically proven light treatment that can treat many skin irregularities and concerns. Very well known for treating pigmentation, this treatment can also treat many other skin issues such as ageing, rosacea, uneven skin tone and superficial lines and wrinkles.
Using a variety of wavelengths of light energy, IPL is able to treat a variety of complex skin imperfections. IPL works by emitting light at certain wavelengths which will be adjusted according to your skin concerns and skin type. When the hand piece is applied to the skin, the energy is absorbed by targeted chromophores.
In the case of pigmentation this would be melanin and in the case of rosacea this would be haemoglobin. The targeted areas then heat up and begin the process of breaking down and are naturally filtered out and absorbed by the body. Resulting in a drastically reduced look or even eliminating the skin concern.

Rosacea is a long-term skin condition that causes inflammation and redness. It mostly affects the face and neck area and is common in both men and women. If left untreated rosacea can become worse. Pigmentation
Hyperpigmentation, melasma, age spots, sun spots and blemishes are skin concerns associated with the darkening of certain areas of the skin. The condition itself is when certain areas of pigment in the skin darken, caused by the over production of melanin in our skin. This could be due to several factors including hormonal issue, sun damage, pregnancy, menopause, certain medications, inherited genes and trauma to the skin.
Lacklustre Skin
Do you suffer with dry, dull and uneven skin? Dehydrated skin on the face can be a result of many factors. The symptoms include dryness, itchy skin, lack-lustre, patchy and uneven tone and texture.
As with all of our laser sessions, before your treatment our highly experienced therapist or doctor will consult with you and discuss your skin concerns. We will scan your skin and take images using our state-of-the-art skin scanning system, so we can get a clear picture of your journey and progress.
As the treatment is light and heat based, when the hand-piece is applied to the face your skin will feel very warm.
Anaesthetic is not required and the treatment itself is fast and can even be done on your lunch brea
The area will cool down very quickly after the treatment and some aloe vera gel will be applied to help with the cooling process.
If you have any pigmentation, this may darken after the treatment before the pigment breaks down and is removed. This usually lasts a few days and is completely normal.
Results can be seen from as little as 1 treatment however we recommend a course of 3 to achieve optimal results.
