Victoria Voysey's Top 5 Sun-care Tips

We’re almost already in July! Can you believe it? That means that for many of us, it’s time to start preparing for some proper summer holiday fun.

Here are my 5 simple tips for healthy, glowing skin this summer:

1. Drink plenty of water

Staying hydrated is really important for healthy skin. That means drinking plenty of water, especially on hot days, but I also recommend using a serum containing Hyaluronic Acid to hydrate your skin from the outside in.

2. Use a hydrating serum

Hyaluronic Acid is found naturally within your skin and it acts like your skin’s own water reservoir maintaining your natural hydration. This benefits from regular top ups, especially if your skin barrier has become compromised in some way. Hyaluronic Acid can hold up to 1000 times its own weight in water so helps to plump fine lines and boosts radiance. It’s an instant drink of water for your skin!

3. Add antioxidants into your skincare routine

Antioxidant protection is an amazing addition to a skincare routine. Ingredients like Vitamin C offer powerful antioxidant environmental protection along with exceptional anti-ageing and reparative benefits. It helps reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and pigmentation, reduces redness as well as stimulating collagen synthesis for a more youthful appearance.

4. Apply SPF everyday, even when it's cloudy

Protection from the sun’s harmful rays should be a priority every day, even more so when you’re poolside, but what else can you do to stay safe and protect your skin in the sun?

5. Top up with a monthly facial

Keeping your skin in good condition helps build up your natural sun protection. Regular monthly facials can transform your skin along with good quality skincare at home. I always tell my clients that consistency is key.
